Collins' appeal of his five-game suspension was denied Tuesday, and he'll sit out Sunday's game against the Patriots to complete the ban, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Collins was suspended following the season opener for violating the NFL's policy and program on substances of abuse, though he unsuccessfully appealed the decision via the United States District Court while concurrently serving the ban. The Cowboys have a bye in Week 7, so the 28-year-old should reclaim his starting job at right tackle Oct. 31 against the Vikings. Terence Steele will receive another start in his place at New England this weekend.
