Smith (ankle) is out for Sunday against Washington, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Smith suffered the injury in Week 14 against Washington and was also unable to suit up in Week 15 against the Giants. The injury is related to the one that also sidelined him for three games earlier in the season. Archer's report adds that Smith is progressing and is expected to be back before the regular season comes to a close. In his absence, Terence Steele should draw the start at left tackle Sunday against Washington.
