The Chiefs waived Fry on Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Fry filled in for Harrison Butker (illness) this past Sunday against the Steelers due to the latter's status on the reserve/COVID-19 list. He fared well enough, connecting on three of four field-goal attempts and three of four point-after tries in the 36-10 victory. Tuesday's transaction may indicate Butker is on the verge of clearing league protocols, but for Fry himself he'll seek another opportunity elsewhere.
