Heinicke completed 23 of 33 passes for 290 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 34-30 win over the Falcons. He added 43 yards on five rushing attempts.

Heinicke hit Terry McLaurin for a 33-yard touchdown in the second quarter but was otherwise quiet until he was called upon to come up with some late-game magic, which has become customary for the 28-year-old quarterback. He connected with McLaurin from 17 yards out to pull Washington within two with 3:52 remaining, then found J.D. McKissic for the game-winning 30-yard touchdown in the final minute, though the running back admittedly did most of the work on the play. With an 8:3 TD:INT since taking over for Ryan Fitzpatrick (hip) in the season opener, Heinicke has held his own under center heading into a Week 5 matchup with the Saints.
