Harris (ankle) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Harris suffered the ankle injury in Week 12 against the Eagles and has been sidelined since. His return to practice will start a 21-day window for him to be activated to the active roster. However, with the Giants out of the playoff picture, it's unclear if New York will rush Harris back for the final two games of the season.
