With Eric Tomlinson (elbow) and Jordan Leggett (knee) ruled out, Tye and Neal Sterling are left as the healthy tight ends for Sunday's game in Oakland, Dennis Waszak Jr. of The Associated Press reports.

Tye could have an opportunity to start and play nearly every snap, but he had plenty of similar chances with the Giants and never took advantage. His time in a key role likely will be short lived, as Austin Seferian-Jenkins (suspension) is eligible to return Week 3.
