Flowers recorded four tackles and one forced fumble during Sunday's 41-33 loss to San Francisco.

While Flowers lined up with his hand in the dirt a good amount, he primarily served in an outside linebacker role and made a few plays doing it. No moment was bigger than when Flowers dropped in coverage and forced a fumble on Deebo Samuel by punching out the ball with less than a minute remaining in the game. However, despite Detroit's impressive comeback effort, this defense allowed the most points of any team in Week 1, which isn't a great sign after the Lions allowed the most points per game in 2020. If Detroit is again playing from behind on a constant basis in 2021, Flowers will likely need to be efficient with his limited pass-rush opportunities in order to reach double-digit sacks for the first time in his professional career.
