My 10-team mock draft with users
My 10-team mock draft with users
Here is a breakdown of my roster from the latest 10-team standard mock draft I did with random users Friday. I'll be doing this at least once a week from now until the start of the season, so jump in when I post it on Twitter @JameyEisenberg, and we'll have some fun.
Feel free to comment on my draft selections below.
I had the No. 3 overall pick, and the lineup was QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, FLEX (RB/WR/TE), DST and K with five bench spots.
Round 1 – LeSean McCoy , RB, Philadelphia Eagles
I was expecting to take Matt Forte here, but the first two picks were Jamaal Charles and Adrian Peterson . I have McCoy at No. 2 overall, so this was an easy selection.
Round 2 – Brandon Marshall , WR, Chicago Bears
I was hoping either Dez Bryant or Julio Jones would fall to me, but they went right before I selected, leaving me with Marshall. He's a great consolation prize since Jay Cutler loves him in a fantastic offense.
Round 3 – Zac Stacy , RB, St. Louis Rams
When I drafted Marshall, I was looking at the running backs still on the board, which included Marshawn Lynch , Alfred Morris , Doug Martin and Stacy. I was hoping one would fall, and Stacy was there, so I grabbed him. I would have preferred Morris, but Stacy is a solid option.
Round 4 – Pierre Garcon , WR, Washington Redskins
Garcon led the NFL in targets last season, and this year he gets a healthy Robert Griffin III and a pass-happy coach in Jay Gruden. He's set up for a big year, and he's a No. 1 Fantasy receiver on my board.
Round 5 – Shane Vereen , RB, New England Patriots
Vereen didn't have his breakout season last year because of a broken wrist in Week 1. He gets to live up to the billing in 2014, and I target him in every draft if possible.
Round 6 – Matthew Stafford , QB, Detroit Lions
Normally I would be one of the last owners to draft a quarterback, but Stafford at this spot was too good to pass up. He should have a monster year with the additions of Golden Tate and Eric Ebron joining Calvin Johnson .
Round 7 – Dennis Pitta , TE, Baltimore Ravens
I was hoping for Trent Richardson here, but he was drafted right in front of me. Instead of reaching for a running back or receiver in this spot, I took Pitta, who is a breakout candidate and a Top 5 tight end on my board.
Round 8 – Kendall Wright , WR, Tennessee Titans
I'm very excited about Wright this year. He's a third-year receiver, and the addition of coach Ken Whisenhunt should help him have a breakout campaign. I love him as my No. 3 receiver for this team.
Round 9 – Terrance West , RB, Cleveland Browns
West is someone I plan to target in all leagues because he could easily push Ben Tate for touches and even get the opportunity to start. In a 10-team league you can take chances on players you like, and West is a rookie with plenty of upside.
Round 10 – Devonta Freeman , RB, Atlanta Falcons
Like West, I like Freeman a lot as a rookie backup running back with upside. We saw Steven Jackson get hurt in 2013, and he's not getting any younger. Freeman could play a big role with the Falcons this season.
Round 11 – Rueben Randle , WR, New York Giants
I like third-year receivers, especially ones with upside. And Randle has the chance for a big year as the Giants offense improves with new coordinator Ben McAdoo. Randle is an excellent No. 4 receiver with plenty of potential.
Round 12 – Stepfan Taylor , RB, Arizona Cardinals
I stick to sleepers I like, and Taylor is someone who could play a bigger role than expected as the No. 2 running back for Arizona behind Andre Ellington . Taylor should lead the Cardinals in rushing touchdowns this year and get a good amount of rushing yards as well.
Round 13 – Cincinnati Bengals DST
Round 14 – Mason Crosby , K, Green Bay Packers
