Myles Gaskin: Likely to be elevated before Week 1

Gaskin will likely be elevated to the game day roster from the practice squad before Week 1 to serve as Minnesota's kick returner, Will Ragatz of Sports Illustrated reports.

The Vikings released Gaskin on Tuesday, leaving only Aaron Jones and Ty Chandler in the backfield on the initial 53-man roster, but later signed him to the practice squad. It sounds like Gaskin will serve as the No. 3 RB but the kick return job could be in flux as the Vikings figure out the position with the new kick return rules. Both the No. 3 RB role and kickoff return job are open after the Vikings surprisingly released Kene Nwangwu.
