Packers' Jordan Love: Keeping door open for Sunday

Head coach Matt LaFleur said Wednesday that Love (knee) doesn't need practice reps in order to play, adding that "it's pretty open" whether or not the quarterback will suit up Sunday against the Colts, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. "But at the same time, he's gotta be cleared," LaFleur noted.
Unsurprisingly, Love didn't practice Wednesday after sustaining a Grade 1-to-2 MCL sprain in his left knee last Friday versus the Eagles, instead focusing on rehab. The general consensus remains that Love will miss at least a few games due to the estimated 3-to-6-week recovery timeline for such an injury, but LaFleur seemingly won't rule out the quarterback for Week 2 until Friday, at the earliest. Assuming Love doesn't gain clearance ahead of Sunday's game, Malik Willis is expected to start in his place, with practice-squad member Sean Clifford serving as the backup signal-caller.
