Zylstra's placement on the reserve/COVID-19 list Sunday was the result of a positive test of the virus, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
The 28-year-old receiver was added to the list less than two hours prior to the Panthers' 32-6 loss to the Buccaneers. Assuming he's vaccinated, Zylstra will have a chance to be available for the Panthers' Week 17 game against the Saints if he can clear the necessary COVID-19 return-to-play protocols, but the wideout will almost certainly miss practice time leading up to the contest. Terrace Marshall served as Carolina's No. 3 receiver Week 16 while Zylstra was out, finishing with one catch for six yards across his 39 offensive snaps.
