Panthers' Fozzy Whittaker: Not expected to practice Wednesday

Whittaker (ankle) is not expected to practice Wednesday, ESPN.com reports.

Whittaker has been sidelined since suffering a high ankle sprain during Week 16, and according to coach Ron Rivera, represents the Panthers' biggest injury concern heading into this week. Since he won't be able to practice Wednesday, improving rookie Cameron Artis-Payne should see backup snaps behind Jonathan Stewart (foot), who is expected to return to practice ahead of Sunday's game versus the Seahawks.
