The Saints have placed Griffin (hamstring) on injured reserve, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The Saints are hopeful that Griffin will be able to return in three weeks for the regular-season finale versus the Falcons. Nick Vannett and Juwan Johnson are now the only two healthy tight ends on the roster.
