Ingram (knee), who is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Bills, "has a chance" to play, but he faces an "uphill battle" to gain clearance ahead of the 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
If he's active, Ingram will likely be in line for his third consecutive start with Alvin Kamara (knee) already ruled out for the contest, but the former's status for Thanksgiving Day is still firmly up in the air while he contends with his own injury. Though his health concern is less significant than Kamara's MCL sprain, Ingram is dealing with swelling in his knee and a "little bit of a meniscus issue," per Rapoport. Ingram managed only one true limited practice -- he was also estimated as a limited participant on Monday's report -- leading up to Thursday, so the Saints are likely to put him through a workout in the hours prior to kickoff to get a better sense of his availability. In any case, official word on his status is unlikely to arrive until New Orleans releases its inactive list 90 minutes before kickoff. Tony Jones would be the next man up to lead the New Orleans backfield if Ingram doesn't suit up, and the former could still be in store for a larger share of the backfield work than usual even in the event Ingram is cleared to play.
