Pope (ankle) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Typically, a high-ankle sprain is associated with a multi-game absence, but head coach Pete Carroll has sent mixed signals, relaying to Liz Mathews of 710 ESPN Seattle that Pope has an opportunity to return Sunday against the Panthers after just one contest in street clothes. "He looked pretty good," Carroll told the Seattle Times before Wednesday's practice. "We'll just have to see what happens. I was really surprised how quick he looked just in the walk through today. We'll see what happens." Indeed, Pope's practice reps Thursday and Friday will shed light on his chances of achieving active status in Week 13.
