Platel was seen on crutches following Sunday's preseason finale against the Lions, Chris Adamski of TribLive.com reports.
Platel recorded three solo tackles and a pass defense during Sunday's matchup, but he went down in the closing minute of the game. The exact nature of his injury isn't yet clear, but he seems like a long shot to make the Steelers' 53-man roster.
