Steelers' Genard Avery: Leaves practice early

Avery suffered a groin injury in practice Monday, Missi Matthews of the Steelers' official site reports.

Avery joined the Steelers on a one-year deal in March after spending the previous three seasons in Philadelphia. He's currently expected to provide depth to the Steelers' linebacker corps, and he should return to that role once healthy.
