Brown (contract dispute) is prepared to extend his holdout until the Texans' Week 8 game against the Seahawks, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports.

The 32-year-old, who has two years remaining on his contract, has been absent from the Texans since the beginning of offseason activities and is seeking to renegotiate a deal that would guarantee his contract for 2018. The 1-1 Texans have sorely missed the presence of their top offensive tackle early on in the season, with quarterbacks Tom Savage and Deshaun Watson getting sacked a combined 13 times through two games. The team's inability to protect against the pass rush has limited its offensive productivity to date, and while Brown's eventual return might not remedy those problems completely, he'd certainly help the situation.
