Burnett tallied four tackles (three solo) and deflected a pass in Sunday's victory over the Seahawks. Burnett's tackle total does not jump off the page, but he was on the field for every defensive snap, according Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, and frequently played close to the line of scrimmage. Both those patterns should continue, giving Burnett plenty of opportunities to make stops in the weeks ahead.
Burnett finished the 2016 season with 93 tackles, including 3.0 sacks, and nine passes defensed, including two interceptions, in 15 games played. Burnett was one of Green Bay's best defenders in 2016, playing in 91.9 percent of the team's defensive snaps. Defensive coordinator Dom Capers moved Burnett around more than in past seasons and Burnett responded with a career high in sacks while posting the second best passes defensed and interception numbers of his career. The Packers finished the season ranked 22nd in total defense and 31st in pass defense, and they'll look to improve around Burnett and bounce back in 2017.
Burnett (quadriceps) is active for Sunday's NFC championship tilt against the Falcons. Burnett was expected to play despite missing practice on Wednesday and Thursday and being limited on Friday. The veteran safety has played in 92 percent of Green Bay's defensive snaps this season and is a vital part of the team's secondary. His play will provide a boost to a Packers defense that will have it's hands full with the league's highest scoring offense in the Falcons.
Burnett (quadriceps) is expected to be available for Sunday's NFC championship game in Atlanta, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Burnett skipped the first two practices of the week, focusing his energy on rehabbing his injured quad, but he was listed as "limited" on the Packers' estimated injury report Friday. Although he remained questionable after Saturday's light session, he seems to have a good shot to suit up Sunday in his typical starting spot at strong safety.
Burnett (quad) returned to practice in a limited fashion Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Falcons. Burnett injured his quadriceps last weekend against the Cowboys and missed practice Wednesday and Thursday. If he's ultimately ruled out, Micah Hyde and Josh Hawkins project to see additional playing time.
