  • Berry (Achilles) is expected to be out for six months, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports. As disheartening as this is for Berry, it doesn't appear to be a career-threatening injury. There's a good chance he'll make a full recovery by or even before the six-month expected recovery date. Chiefs trainer Rick Burkholder was quick to note that this is a ballpark estimate and things can change depending on his progress. While he's out, Daniel Sorenson is the likely replacement.

    By RotoWire Staff

Berry (Achilles) was officially placed on injured reserve Saturday. Berry ruptured his Achilles tendon in Thursday's season-opening win over the Patriots. The veteran is one of the most valuable defensive backs in the league from his team's perspective due to both coverage and playmaking skills. The Chiefs will now turn to Daniel Sorensen for a strong safety presence, while Berry recovers and looks forward to the 2018 season.

In his prolonged absence, Daniel Sorensen is in line to step into a much larger than expected role throughout the 2017 season.

While no word has been given officially by the team, it's easy to think that Berry sustained a significant injury based on his reaction after going down. He managed to register seven total tackles before exiting the game.

  • Chiefs' Eric Berry: Will play Friday
    By RotoWire Staff

Berry (heel) will make his preseason debut against the Seahawks on Friday. Berry has been nursing a sore heel since June, so it's good to see him finally cleared for game action. The 28-year-old will probably see limited action against the Seahawks regardless, with the Chiefs likely to be cautious after making Berry the highest-paid safety in the NFL this offseason.
