Goode played just nine snaps on defense and didn't have a tackle in Sunday's loss to the Bengals. Goode was thought to be the starter at strong-side linebacker, but he barely got off the bench Sunday as the Colts mostly utilized nickel and dime packages.
Goode looks set to start at strong-side linebacker after the trade of Antonio Morrison, ESPN 1070 am Indianapolis reports. Goode was mostly used on special teams last season but registered a career-high 22 tackles (18 solo) across 16 regular-season games with the Eagles.
Goode had 22 tackles (18 solo) in 16 games with the Eagles in 2017. Goode once again served as a special teams conributor for the Eagles but did garner three starts, recording 11 tackles (10 solo). The 28-year-old enters 2018 as an unrestricted free agent and is likely to be featured in a similar role next season, wherever he ends up signing.
The Eagles placed offensive lineman Allen Barbre (ankle) and linebacker Najee Goode (pectoral) on injured reserve Tuesday. Guard Evan Mathis (knee) was also placed on injured reserve with a designation to return.
Eagles safety Earl Wolff (knee), cornerback Brandon Boykin (concussion), linebacker Najee Goode (hamstring) and linebacker Mychal Kendricks (knee) are active against the Bears after being listed as probable. Wolff returns after missing four straight games.
