Goode agreed to a contract Wednesday with the Jaguars, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Goode logged over 290 special-teams snaps for the fourth consecutive season in 2018 with the Colts. He was likely brought in to beef up the Jaguars' coverage units.
Goode had one tackle and played only on special teams in Sunday's loss at the Jets. Goode got significant playing time on defense the week before with Anthony Walker hurt, but he returned to a backup role Sunday.
Goode had seven total tackles and defended a pass in Thursday's loss at New England. Goode played 51 of the defense's 69 snaps as he got more playing time after Anthony Walker was lost to a concussion.
Goode looks set to start at strong-side linebacker after the trade of Antonio Morrison, ESPN 1070 am Indianapolis reports. Goode was mostly used on special teams last season but registered a career-high 22 tackles (18 solo) across 16 regular-season games with the Eagles.
Goode had 22 tackles (18 solo) in 16 games with the Eagles in 2017. Goode once again served as a special teams conributor for the Eagles but did garner three starts, recording 11 tackles (10 solo). The 28-year-old enters 2018 as an unrestricted free agent and is likely to be featured in a similar role next season, wherever he ends up signing.
