  • Raiders' Justin Ellis: Heading to IR
    By RotoWire Staff

The Raiders are placing Ellis (foot) on injured reserve, Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Ellis injured his foot in Monday's game against the Rams, and it will cost him extended time. However, Gehlken indicates that the Raiders expect him to resume practice when first eligible in six weeks and plan to activate him later on in the campaign. The team signed veteran Jonathan Hankins to replace him on the 53-man roster.

  • Ellis sustained strained ligaments in his foot in Monday's season-opening loss to the Rams, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. The Raiders are labeling Ellis as week-to-week with the injury, making it unlikely he'll be ready to play Sunday in Denver. After tallying 48 stops in 16 games in 2017, Ellis was shut out of the tackle column across 52 snaps in the Week 1 loss before departing. In addition to Ellis, fellow defensive tackles P.J. Hall (ankle) and Brian Price (hamstring) are also nursing injuries, which could prompt the Raiders to sign Johnathan Hankins to shore up the line, according to Rapoport.

  • Raiders' Justin Ellis: Agrees to extension
    By RotoWire Staff

Ellis and the Raiders have reached agreement on a three-year contract for more than $15 million, including $6 million guaranteed, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. A 2014 fourth-round selection, Ellis only has one-half of a sack in 60 NFL games, but he's made 41 starts and piled up 112 tackles, including a career-best 48 last season. He'll likely continue in his role as Oakland's starting nose tackle, exiting the field for most passing downs.
