  • Lions' Christian Jones: Nursing unknown injury
    By RotoWire Staff

Jones missed Thursday's practice with an undisclosed issue, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. Jones was spotted with a sleeve on his right leg Thursday, but nothing official has been reported by the team. With Jones sidelined, rookie Jahlani Tavai took linebacker reps with the first stringers in practice, along with Jarrad Davis and Devon Kennard.

  • Jones tallied 69 tackles, one sack, three pass breakups and one forced fumble over 16 games for the Lions in 2018. Coming over from Chicago fresh off a 90-tackle season, Jones seemed to be a bad fit in Detroit over the first half of the season. However, the midseason acquisition of defensive tackle Damon Harrison seemed to change things for Jones, as he produced just 19 tackles in six games prior to Harrison coming to town compared to 50 in 10 games with Harrison around. With both Jones and Harrison under contract in 2019, next year it's reasonable to expect Jones to pick up where he left off -- on pace for an 80-tackle season.

  • Lions' Christian Jones: Major uptick in action
    By RotoWire Staff

Jones recorded six tackles (five solo) and a sack across 59 defensive snaps in Sunday's loss to the 49ers. After being limited to only 27 defensive snaps in the season-opener, Jones saw a major uptick in action Sunday. The linebacker played 92 percent of the Lions' defensive snaps as a starter and tied Jarrad Davis for the lead in tackles. After a strong outing on an otherwise disappointing day, Jones has a good chance of seeing a similar workload Sunday night against the Patriots.

  • Christian Jones: Heading to Detroit
    By RotoWire Staff

Jones will sign a two-year, $7.75 contract with the Lions, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Jones was moved into a starting role for the Bears last season due to linebacker injuries, and he managed to record 90 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble in 16 games. He should compete for a starting role in Detroit, a team that struggled at the linebacker position last season.

  • Jones notched a sack and eight tackles in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Lions. Jones was Chicago's most productive defender, generating his sixth straight strong performance. Since moving into the lineup, he's recorded at least seven tackles in each game while adding a pair of sacks. He's quickly become an excellent IDP option who should be rostered in just about every league.
