  • Raiders' Marcus Peters: Expected to be let go

Peters is expected to be let go by the Raiders before the team returns from its Week 13 bye, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports. Peters has had several instances this season in which his effort was called into question, culminating in Sunday's loss to Kansas City in which he was benched midway through the second quarter. He had an exchange with interim head coach Antonio Pierce and didn't return during the second half. Peters was reportedly almost cut earlier this year, and the team's patience has apparently worn out. The 30-year-old's statistical production is close to what he accomplished with the Ravens last year, as he tallied 43 tackles (28 solo), an interception, a touchdown and five pass defenses over his first 12 appearances with the Raiders. However, he wasn't as effective in pass coverage and missed some tackles in crucial games, so he's expected to part ways with the organization for the final few games of the year. Tyler Hall, Amik Robertson and Jack Jones are candidates to see increased playing time following the Raiders' Week 13 bye.

  • Raiders' Marcus Peters: Limited at practice Wednesday

Peters (knee) logged a limited practice session Wednesday. Peters hurt his knee against the Giants in Week 9 and posted a DNP/LP/LP practice progression during Week 10 prep, though he was able to suit up this past Sunday against the Jets. The veteran cornerback played every one of Las Vegas' defensive snaps in that contest, but Wednesday's limited practice suggests that he's not yet clear of the knee issue. Peters probably has a good chance to play this coming Sunday versus Miami, though his participation during the remainder of Week 11 prep should determine whether he heads into the weekend with an injury designation.

  • Raiders' Marcus Peters: Could play Sunday

Peters (knee) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Jets, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. The veteran cornerback was able to log limited practice sessions both Thursday and Friday after recording a DNP on Wednesday. If Peters is unable to suit up this Sunday, Jakorian Bennett and Amik Robertson are expected to see an uptick in work in the Raiders' secondary.

  • Raiders' Marcus Peters: Hurts knee in Week 9 win

Peters (knee) was ruled out in the second half of Sunday's 30-6 win over the Giants. Prior to getting injured, Peters recorded two tackles (one solo) and a pass defensed. The veteran cornerback will look to recover before the Raiders host the Jets in Week 10.

  • Ravens' Marcus Peters: Iffy for Week 18

Peters (calf) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Bengals. Peters has missed back-to-back games after suffering a calf strain in Week 15. The veteran cornerback was limited at practice Wednesday through Friday, so his availability will likely come down to a game-time decision Sunday.

  • Ravens' Marcus Peters: Sitting out Week 16

Peters (calf) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Falcons, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site reports. Peters is expected to miss some time after being diagnosed with a mild calf strain Monday, so his inability to play Week 16 doesn't come as much of a surprise. The 29-year-old's next chance to play will come against the Steelers on Sunday, Jan. 1. With Peters sidelined, said second-year cornerback Brandon Stephens will likely step up into a much bigger role against Atlanta, according to Clifton Brown of the Ravens' official site.

  • Ravens' Marcus Peters: Dealing with calf injury

Peters (calf) didn't return to Saturday's 13-3 loss to the Browns. Peters was initially deemed questionable to return with a calf injury but was ruled out at the beginning of the fourth quarter. The severity of the issue remains unclear, but he'll presumably undergo further testing and more information should be available in the coming days. Peters finished Saturday's game with three solo tackles.

  • Ravens' Marcus Peters: Questionable for MNF

Peters (quadriceps) is questionable for Monday's matchup against the Saints, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. Peters logged his first full practice of the week Saturday, which suggests he may be available for Monday's matchup. However, his status will become official shortly before game time. Peters has been a mainstay for Baltimore's defense this season, logging five passes defended and an interception across seven games on the campaign.

  • Ravens' Marcus Peters: Three tackles in victory

Peters recorded three tackles in Thursday's win over the Buccaneers. Peters continued to play a significant role in the Ravens' secondary and had the tough task of trying to shut down Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. He had a chance for a bigger performance but dropped an interception in the second half on an inaccurate throw by Tom Brady. Peters now has multiple tackles in five of seven games on the campaign, while also racking up five passes defended and an interception.

  • Ravens' Marcus Peters: Generates two turnovers in win

Peters recorded a tackle, an interception and a fumble recovery Sunday in the Ravens' 37-26 win over the Patriots. Peters secured the last of Mac Jones' three interceptions on the day with 1:55 remaining in the fourth quarter, effectively salting the game away for Baltimore. On the Patriots' prior drive, Peters found himself in the right place at the right time when New England was attempting to overcome a five-point deficit, as he pounced on a Nelson Agholor fumble forced by teammate Kyle Hamilton to give the Ravens possession in plus territory. As usual, Peters didn't supplement his turnovers with much tackle production, but the 29-year-old remains one of the NFL's more opportunistic ballhawks when healthy. He's now tallied 32 interceptions through 93 career regular-season games.

  • Ravens' Marcus Peters: Sits Wednesday due to rest

Peters (rest) was listed as a non-participant on the Ravens' official injury report Wednesday. Initial reports suggested that Peters sat out Wednesday's practice due to the knee injury that kept him sidelined for the season opener, but the starting cornerback was simply getting a scheduled rest day. He should be good to go for Sunday's matchup against New England, but the Ravens may be without Marlon Humphrey, who also didn't practice Wednesday due to a groin injury.

  • Ravens' Marcus Peters: Won't play Week 1

Peters (knee) is inactive for Sunday's season opener against the Jets. Peters suffered a torn ACL before the start of the 2021 campaign and appeared to be on track to play in the season opener after being activated off the active/PUP list in mid-August. However, he was held out of Friday's practice after being limited Wednesday and Thursday, so it's not surprising to see him ruled out. In his absence, expect Kyle Fuller and Brandon Stephens to have expanded roles.

  • Ravens' Marcus Peters: Lands on PUP list

The Ravens have placed Peters (knee) on the active/PUP list ahead of training camp. Peters tore his ACL just three days prior to the start of the 2021 campaign and missed the entire season as a result. It is unclear how near he is to a return. The 29-year-old will be playing for a new contract this season.

  • Ravens' Marcus Peters: Should be healthy before camp

Peters (knee) recently said he should be healthy by June or July, giving him a shot to be ready for the start of training camp, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports. Peters is one of the many Ravens rehabbing an ACL tear this offseason, having suffered the injury in a practice three days before the start of the regular season. The 29-year-old cornerback isn't likely to participate in spring practices, but he could get a new contract this offseason as he enters the third and final year of a $42 million extension.

  • Ravens' Marcus Peters: Torn ACL feared

The Ravens fear Peters sustained a potentially significant knee injury during Thursday's practice, Mike Garofolo and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network report. In a nightmarish sequence of events during the Ravens' first official Week 1 practice, Peters and top running back Gus Edwards both went down with what appeared to be non-contact knee injuries on consecutive plays. Baltimore opted to cancel the remainder of practice as a result, and Peters and Edwards are now set to undergo further testing as the team looks to confirm the severity of their injuries. According to the report, the Ravens fear that Peters may have torn his ACL, an injury that would require season-ending surgery. Anthony Averett would likely be the next man to step into a starting role at outside cornerback opposite Marlon Humphrey if Peters is forced to miss time. Baltimore opens its season Monday in Las Vegas.

  • Ravens' Marcus Peters: Good to go Saturday

Peters (back) is active for Saturday's divisional-round game against the Bills, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. The 28-year-old was considered questionable with the back injury, but coach John Harbaugh never expected the cornerback's availability to be in doubt. Peters and Marlon Humphrey will operate as Baltimore's outside cornerbacks Saturday, per usual.

  • Ravens' Marcus Peters: Active Sunday

Peters (calf) is active for Sunday's game at Cincinnati. The 27-year-old missed the previous two games with the calf injury, but he'll be back on the field for Week 17. Now that he's healthy, Peters should reclaim his starting role at cornerback opposite Marlon Humphrey.

  • Ravens' Marcus Peters: Listed as questionable

Peters (calf) is questionable for Sunday's game versus the Titans. Peters didn't practice all week, putting him on the wrong track for Sunday's game. Nearly the entire Ravens cornerback corps is dealing with an injury, headlined by Jimmy Smith (ribs/shoulder) -- who has already been ruled out -- and Peters. In addition, Tramon Williams (thigh), Anthony Averett (ankle) and Davontae Harris (ankle) are questionable. It's a fool's errand to project how the Ravens' secondary will shake out this week behind Marlon Humphrey, who is the only corner with a clean bill of health.

  • Ravens' Marcus Peters: Limited snaps expected

Peters (chest) is active for Sunday's game against the Steelers. Peters was able to practice at full speed Friday, so his chest injury doesn't appear to be a major concern. The Ravens locked down the No. 1 seed in the AFC already, so Peters isn't expected to play much, if at all, the day after signing a three-year, $42 million contract extension.

  • Ravens' Marcus Peters: Inks three-year extension

Peters (chest) signed a three-year, $42 million contract extension with $32 million guaranteed on Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The Ravens traded linebacker Kenny Young and a 2020 fifth-round pick to the Rams in exchange for Peters in October. He's been superb for the new squad and will avoid free agency in March. Since arriving in Baltimore, Peters has allowed just 5.4 yards per target and two touchdowns over nine games, and he's recorded three interceptions, taking two back for touchdowns. The 26-year-old corner remains questionable for Sunday's season finale against Pittsburgh.
