Washington released Hemingway on Thursday, Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports. Hemingway spent the offseason in Washington, but he couldn't manage to secure a role in the team's tight-end corps. Last season, Hemingway suited up for eight games with the Football Team.
Hemingway (concussion) is participating in Monday's practice, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports. Hemingway spent last week in the concussion protocol, so he had been sidelined from practice. The sixth-year pro currently appears to be in the lead for the No. 2 tight end role behind Logan Thomas.
Hemingway (concussion) is listed as inactive for Friday's exhibition matchup with the Bengals, Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports. Hemingway is currently in concussion protocol. He will not be able to return to the field before passing the league's mandated tests. He currently projects to back up Logan Thomas at tight end in the upcoming season, but he will have some competition for the job.
Washington placed Hemingway (wrist) on injured reserve Wednesday. Hemingway sustained a dislocated wrist during Monday's win over the Steelers, as Ben Standig of The Athletic reports. As a result, he's not expected to return this season.
Washington signed Hemingway to the active roster from the practice squad Thursday. This marks the third time this season that Hemingway has been promoted to the Football Team's active roster, though he hasn't yet seen game action. If Robert Foster manages to clear the league-mandated six days of pre-entry COVID-19 testing, however, Hemingway could find his roster spot in jeopardy.
