Carrier is ruled out to return to Sunday's game against the Chiefs due to a concussion. With Carrier ruled out to return to Oakland's season finale, Darren Waller and Lee Smith could see a slight uptick in snaps.
Carrier caught two passes on as many targets for 29 yards and the game-winning touchdown during Sunday's 24-21 win over the Steelers. Carrier's first touchdown of the season came at a perfect time, as the six-yard score put the Raiders on top with less than a minute left in the contest. Fellow tight end Jared Cook surpassed the 100-yard mark for a second straight week, limiting Carrier's volume in the offense for good reason.
Carrier caught his lone target for five yards in Sunday's 20-19 loss to the Broncos. Carrier has caught at least one pass in each of the Raiders' first two games, but Jared Cook remains the primary option at tight end. Carrier also played half as many snaps as fellow backup Lee Smith, who mainly serves as a blocker.
Carrier caught two passes on three targets for 20 yards in Monday's loss to the Rams. Carrier was certainly overshadowed by starting tight end Jared Cook and his nine catches for 180 yards on 12 targets, but the former logged 25 offensive snaps to fellow backup Lee Smith's nine. Carrier shouldn't warrant much fantasy consideration as long as Cook remains healthy, but he's ahead of Smith in target share despite being listed No. 3 on the depth chart at tight end.
Carrier agreed to a three-year deal with the Raiders on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. This deal won't become official until the league's new year starts Wednesday. Carrier played 14 games for the Rams in 2017, but he hauled in just eight passes for 71 yards and zero touchdowns, while getting just one target in the red zone. He'll likely slot in behind veteran Jared Cook, who had 54 receptions for 688 yards and two touchdowns in 2017, in Oakland's depth chart.
