The Jets signed Wilson to the active roster Tuesday. The Jets lost safety Lamarcus Joyner for the season due to a torn triceps. Wilson started all 28 games he played for the Jaguars over the last two seasons, recording 128 tackles (102 solo), seven pass breakups and three interceptions. He'll battle Sheldrick Redwine for the starting strong safety role moving forward.
Wilson (undisclosed) was placed on the COVID-19 list Monday. It's not known whether Wilson is out as a close contact or if he tested positive for the virus, but he'll be away from the team until he clears the protocols regardless. Rookie Andre Cisco and Josh Jones should see more reps at free safety while Wilson is sidelined.
Wilson had 10 tackles (all solo) during Sunday's 40-14 loss to the Ravens. It's the first time this season the 26-year-old recorded double-digit tackles, as Baltimore heavily utilized its run game during Sunday's victory. Wilson has 59 tackles (42 solo) and one interception in 10 games this season, so his IDP value remains limited.
Wilson (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game against Minnesota. The 26-year-old received the questionable tag after being a limited practice participant all week with the shoulder issue, but it won't prevent him from suiting up Sunday. Wilson played only 66 percent of the defensive snaps last week but should return to his every-down role versus the Vikings.
Wilson (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Vikings. Wilson was limited in all three of Jacksonville's practices this week. The safety has been integral to the Jaguars' defense of late, racking up 16 tackles over the past two games. If Wilson can't go Sunday, Brandon Watson will likely be called upon to fill in.
