  • Gallman agreed to a contract with the 49ers on Wednesday, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports. Gallman set career highs in rushing yardage (682) and touchdowns (six) in 15 games for the Giants last season while adding 21 receptions for 114 yards. His increased profile in New York's offense was the result of top back Saquon Barkley (knee) missing most of the 2020 campaign with a torn ACL. With the 49ers, Gallman will compete for a depth role behind Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson, a context that doesn't provide the 26-year-old with a clear path to steady carries in 2021.

  • Gallman carried 11 times for 65 yards and was not targeted during Sunday's 23-19 win over the Cowboys. Gallman averaged an impressive 5.9 yards per carry against a beatable Dallas front, but he didn't receive a heavy workload, despite playing from ahead for most of the game. He narrowly escaped a massive error in the final moments of the game when he fumbled in Giants territory but somehow managed to recover the ball from the bottom of the pile. Despite the blunder, it was one of Gallman's most productive performances in recent weeks, and he finishes the regular season with a surprising 792 scrimmage yards to go along with six touchdowns. He'll look to retain the role of lead ball carrier in the postseason, if the Eagles can beat Washington on Sunday night.

  • Gallman registered 27 yards on six carries while corralling both of his targets for 26 yards during Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Ravens. New York fell into a 20-3 first-half deficit, ushering the Giants into a pass-heavy game script that consisted of 41 Daniel Jones attempts to 12 total team carries. Gallman toted eight of the Giants' 11 RB touches, exceeding 50 scrimmage yards for the eighth time over his past nine appearances. With a total of six touchdowns since Week 7, Gallman has demonstrated a propensity for getting into the end zone. He's currently shouldering a four-game scoreless streak, however, as the Giants head into a Week 17 matchup against the Cowboys' 32nd-ranked rush defense.

  • Gallman rushed nine times for 29 yards in Sunday's 20-6 loss to Cleveland. He was not targeted in the passing game. Gallman had been the Giants' workhorse with double-digit carries over the last seven weeks, but the team inexplicably moved away from him in the second half in favor of veteran Alfred Morris. There are currently no reports of the starting tailback suffering any sort of injury, so the decision is a curious one when you consider the alternative options (or lack thereof) at the position. Morris did perform well in his place (seven carries for 39 yards), but most of his damage was done on two draw plays for which the down and distance was so long that the Browns were playing a soft defense to prevent any big passing plays. Perhaps there will be a more concrete explanation issued by head coach Joe Judge, but right now we have to consider a committee approach for the Giants moving forward. That move would sever Gallman's fringe status as a startable fantasy back heading into a matchup against the Ravens on Sunday.

  • Gallman rushed 12 times for 57 yards and caught three of four targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 26-7 loss to Arizona. Gallman got 12 of the 17 carries by Giants running backs, but it was Dion Lewis who got the call from one yard out for New York's lone points of the afternoon. Though Gallman has gone two games without a touchdown after scoring six in his previous five games, he remains locked into the lead role in the Giants' backfield heading into a Week 15 matchup with the Browns.
