Gaffney (undisclosed) was waived by the Jaguars on Friday, John Oehser of Jaguars.com reports. Gaffney will land on the team's injured reserve list if he clear waivers. The 26 year-old played in just one game for the Bills last season. His chances of making the team's final roster were slim.
Gaffney (undisclosed) isn't expected to play in Thursday's preseason opener against the Patriots, Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union reports. Gaffney missed out on practice time this week due to an undisclosed injury. His absence likely means added reps for reserve Tim Cook.
Gaffney signed with the Jaguars on Wednesday. The Jaguars were able to create room for Gaffney following the departure of offensive lineman Brandon Albert. The former Patriot and three-year veteran will bring with him two super bowl rings to Jacksonville. In all likelihood, Gaffney will serve as a special teams asset if he cracks the 53-man roster.
Gaffney was waived by the Patriots on Monday, ESPN's Field Yates reports. Gaffney's rights will now be subject to waivers and if he's not claimed, he'll become an unrestricted free agent. A sixth-round pick of the Panthers in 2014, Gaffney has yet to make a regular-season appearance since entering the league.
Gaffney signed a reserve/future contract with the Patriots on Tuesday, NESN reports. Gaffney, who ended the 2016 season on the Patriots' practice squad, slots in as the sixth running back on the team's offseason depth chart.
