Daniels signed his exclusive rights tender from the Cardinals on Monday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. Daniels appeared in 11 games between the Seahawks and Cardinals last season, failing to catch either of his two targets during that stretch. The third-year pro will work to stand out during OTAs and training camp in order to carve out a depth role behind Charles Clay and Ricky Seals-Jones (neck).
Daniels received an extended tender offer from the Cardinals on Friday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. Daniels appeared in two games for the Cardinals after being claimed off waivers in December. It remains to be seen if he will accept the team's offer.
Daniels was claimed off waivers by the Cardinals on Monday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. Daniels had originally been waived by Seattle to create a roster spot for Keenan Reynolds. Although Arizona could use some aid at the tight end position, it's likely that Daniels was claimed with the intent of helping out on special teams.
Daniels was waived by the Seahawks on Saturday, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports. Daniels was traded from the Colts to the Seahawks in early September and this is the second time the team has waived him. The 24-year-old joined Seattle's practice squad after being waived last time, and is surely a candidate to do so again this time around.
Daniels was promoted to the 53-man roster from the practice squad Wednesday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. With Will Dissly (kneecap) landing on injured reserve after undergoing surgery for a patella injury, the Seahawks are extremely thin at the tight end position. Daniels joins the team as the second option at the position and could see some playing time in Sunday's contest against the Rams. He served as a special teams contributor prior to being waived before last week's game against the Cardinals and landing on the practice squad.
