Nelson is signing a contract with the Saints, Josh Katzenstein of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Nelson has appeared in 20 games over four seasons, seeming limited reps on both defense and special teams. He's likely facing an uphill battle to win a roster spot in New Orleans.
Nelson was signed to the Texans from the team's practice squad. The Texans have some injuries in the secondary and Nelson will provide some depth there if they are shorthanded for Week 6 against the Colts.
Nelson was waived by the Texans, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports. The Texans are deep at cornerback, so Nelson's chances of making the active roster were pretty slim.
The Browns listed cornerback Joe Haden (shoulder) and linebacker Karlos Dansby (knee) as questionable for Sunday's game at Carolina. Haden was able to practice Friday on a limited basis. Also listed as questionable are Gary Barnidge (ribs), Marlon Moore (knee), Robert Nelson (hamstring) and Jabaal Sheard (foot). The Browns ruled K'Waun Williams (hamstring) and Tashaun Gipson (knee) as out. Wide receiver Andrew Hawkins (illness) is the only player listed as probable. The Browns are 3 ½ point underdogs to the Panthers.
Injured players pepper the inactive list produced by the Browns for their Sunday game against visiting Cincinnati. They are defensive backs K'Waun Williams (hamstring) and Tashaun Gipson (knee), linebacker Karlos Dansby (knee), wideout Robert Nelson (hamstring) and tight end Gary Barnidge (rib). The healthy scratches are tackle Vinston Painter and running back Glenn Winston.
