Allen (neck) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. Allen's neck injury sidelined him Week 16, but he'll be available for Sunday's game against the Browns. Coach Mike Tomlin has already announced an intent to rest some starters, so Allen could end up seeing an uptick in defensive snaps.
Allen (neck) has been ruled out for Sunday's game versus the Colts. Allen played every snap in last week's loss to the Bengals, but now he's set to miss his second game of the year. The Steelers' linebacker depth is hurting badly. Vince Williams and Avery Williamson are expected to start at inside linebacker in Week 16 as a result.
Allen had six tackles (two solo) during Monday's 27-17 loss to the Bengals. The 24-year-old played a minor defensive role the first 13 weeks of the season, but he's played 56 defensive snaps in each of the past two games. Allen should continue to start at inside linebacker until Vince Williams (illness) returns from the COVID-19 list, which could happen this week.
Allen recorded eight tackles (five solo) across 56 defensive snaps in Sunday's loss to the Steelers. Allen performed well on Sunday after being thrust into a starter role with Vince Williams on the COVID-19 list. Should Williams remain sidelined, look for Allen to continue as starter.
Coach Mike Tomlin said Allen has plantar fasciitis and isn't expected to play Sunday versus the Titans, Ed Bouchette of The Athletic reports. Allen has suited up in every game this season, playing strictly on special teams and recording two tackles in the process. However, he has a tricky injury and is expected to miss some games, although there isn't a clear timeline for his recovery.
