Jones was on the first-team defense for OTAs, suiting up as the team's No. 1 cornerback, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. With Jalen Mills (foot) and Ronald Darby (knee) recovering from injuries, Jones was able to step in and be the top corner in practice. The 2019 campaign is a big year for the third-year pro, as he's played just 10 games the past two seasons while dealing with Achilles and hamstring injuries to start his NFL career.
Jones (hamstring) said he would've been cleared for the NFC Championship Game if the Eagles had advanced past the divisional round, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Jones was limited to nine appearances (four starts) during the 2018 season, injuring his right hamstring on three separate occasions. He seems to have regained his health in time for a normal offseason routine, with the hope of adding some muscle to his 6-foot, 180-pound frame. The 2017 second-round pick will need to battle for a meaningful role in the Philadelphia defense, as fellow cornerbacks Jalen Mills (foot), Rasul Douglas, Avonte Maddox and Cre'Von LeBlanc are all under contract for at least one more season. Jones does have the benefit of youth (he'll turn 23 in May) and draft pedigree (2017 second-round pick).
Jones (hamstring) is officially inactive for Sunday's game at New Orleans. Jones was able to return to practice this week and was a full participant Friday, but he will still miss his fifth straight game. While the 22-year-old appears to be nearing a return, he'll need to hope the Eagles advance to the NFC Championship Game if he wants a chance to see the field again this season. Avonte Maddox should once again see a heavy workload in his absence.
Jones (hamstring) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's divisional-round playoff game against the Saints. Jones was a full participant in Friday's practice after having been limited Wednesday and Thursday. The second-year starter has missed five consecutive games due to a lingering hamstring injury, but he appears to be nearing a return to the field. If Jones is cleared to play in New Orleans, Avonte Maddox will likely return to a backup role.
Jones (hamstring) is ruled out for Sunday's wild-card game against the Bears. Jones did not practice in any capacity this week and will miss his fifth straight game. The second-year starter's absence will be a notable blow for Philadelphia's secondary. Expect Avonte Maddox (oblique) to draw the start in Jones' stead if he's able to play through his injury.
