Parms signed a one-year contract with the Panthers on Thursday, Bryan Strickland of the team's official site reports. Parms, an exclusive-rights free agent, is re-upping with Carolina after spending the 2018 campaign on injured reserve with a shoulder injury he picked up during the preseason. The FAU product has yet to appear in an NFL game since entering the league four seasons ago.
Parms (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve Sunday, Max Henson of the Panthers' official site reports. Parms injured his shoulder during Thursday's preseason opener against the Bills. The extent of his injury remains unclear, but he's likely stuck on IR through the end of the league year unless he agrees to an injury settlement.
Parms left Thursday's preseason game against the Bills with a shoulder injury and did not return. Parms is fighting for a spot on the Panthers' final roster, so he will hope to be back sooner rather than later. He will have eight days to recover before Carolina's next preseason game against the Dolphins.
Parms signed with the Panthers on Sunday. Carolina had shown a steady level of interest in signing Parms for several months and finally reached an agreement with the former Florida Atlantic standout. If he makes the team, Parms projects as a special teams asset.
