Currie (knee) was waived/injured by the Browns on Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Currie was forced out of the Browns final preseason game with an injury, which means he will presumably revert to their injured reserve should he clear waivers. He would then remain their for the rest of the season unless he and the team came to terms on an injury settlement.
Currie exited Thursday's preseason game against the Lions with a knee injury, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Currie led the Browns with six tackles (four solo) and a sack while playing 52 defensive snaps prior to leaving with the injury in the fourth quarter. The extent of the injury is not currently known.
Currie (concussion) returned to practice Sunday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Currie suffered a concussion nearly two weeks ago and was unable to suit up for Thursday's preseason matchup with the Giants. Currie -- who appeared in three games for the Browns in 2017 -- is battling for a roster spot.
The Browns promoted Currie from their practice squad Friday. Currie, who previously appeared in one game for Cleveland earlier this season, will rejoin the team to provide added depth at safety with starter Jabrill Peppers (knee) doubtful to play Sunday against the Packers.
Currie (ankle) did not practice Tuesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Entering his third season, Currie has yet to play a regular season snap. He's currently vying for a special teams role, so a quick recovery is essential for a legitimate chance.
