• 49ers' Raheem Mostert: Lands on IR

  Mostert was placed on injured reserve Tuesday to a left high-ankle sprain, spelling an end to his 2020 season, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Mostert's season was plagued by injuries, as ankle and knee injuries will end up costing him eight games this year. The 28-year-old rushed 104 times for 521 yards and two touchdowns, and he caught 16 of 19 targets for 156 yards and a score. The 49ers will close out the 2020 campaign with a committee of Jeff Wilson (ankle), Tevin Coleman and Jerick McKinnon at running back. Mostert is under contract for the 2021 season at a $3.3 million cap hit.

  Mostert (ankle) isn't expected to return in the 2020 season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Mostert missed four games earlier this season with a left ankle injury, and he never fully recovered before suffering a high-ankle sprain to the same ankle in this past Sunday's loss to the Cowboys. With the 49ers eliminated from playoff contention, they're expected to shut Mostert down for the rest of the season. If that's the case, a committee of Jeff Wilson (ankle), Tevin Coleman and Jerick McKinnon will handle the backfield reps for the final two games.

• 49ers' Raheem Mostert: Sustains ankle injury

  Mostert left Sunday's game at Dallas due to an ankle injury, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Mostert logged a one-yard carry on the 49ers' first offensive play of the second half, but shortly thereafter he was seen grabbing at his left ankle on the bench, per Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com. Deemed questionable to return, Mostert will finish Week 15 with 14 carries for 68 yards if he's unable to do so. In the meantime, Jeff Wilson will carry the load out of San Fran's backfield.

• 49ers' Raheem Mostert: Set to play Sunday

  Mostert (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game in Dallas, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Mostert underwent an MRI at the beginning of the week and was held out of practice Wednesday. He apparently made good progress in his recovery from the ankle issue, so he's expected to get the Week 15 start, presumably continuing to split backfield work with Jeff Wilson. He'll benefit from an excellent matchup, as the Cowboys have surrendered a league-worst 5.1 yards per carry.

• 49ers' Raheem Mostert: Bumps up to limited

  Mostert (ankle) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. Mostert emerged from the 49ers' Week 14 loss to Washington with an ankle issue, marking his second such injury of the campaign. Clearly, the current one is far less severe, as he followed up Wednesday's absence with some activity one day later. He has one more opportunity to bump up to full Friday, but even if he doesn't he seems poised to be no less than 'questionable' for Sunday's game in Dallas. Behind Mostert, Jeff Wilson is next in the pecking order at running back, with Tevin Coleman and Jerick McKinnon also on hand.
