March-Lillard has re-signed with the Cowboys, Rob Phillips of the Cowboys' official site reports. March-Lillard is a core special teams player who ranked fifth on the team in coverage tackles last season. He only logged eight snaps on defense, though, and probably won't improve upon that unless a number of injuries happen to hit the Cowboys linebacking corps.
March-Lillard signed a contract with the Cowboys on Wednesday, Brandon George of The Dallas Morning News reports. March-Lillard was waived Saturday by the Seahawks after playing exclusively on special teams during his lone game with the team. The 24-year-old is likely to see a similar role in Dallas now that middle linebacker Anthony Hitchens has returned from a knee injury.
March-Lillard was claimed by the Seahawks on Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. March-Lillard was waived by the Dolphins earlier in the week. He'll provide needed depth at outside linebacker with D.J. Alexander (hamstring) out of commission and Dewey McDonald (knee) on injured reserve.
The Dolphins waived March-Lillard on Monday. March-Lillard's dismissal clears a spot on the 53-man roster for fellow linebacker Lawrence Timmons, who was reinstated from suspension Monday. With Timmons set to return to action Sunday and the Dolphins having recently acquired 2015 first-round pick Stephone Anthony to bolster their linebacking corps, March-Lillard was an expendable piece. March-Lillard has appeared in both of the Dolphins' first two contests, but played exclusively on special teams, logging one stop.
March-Lillard (broken hand) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports. March-Lillard broke his left hand in October and was placed on injured reserve shortly thereafter. Considering league rules state only one player can return from IR per team per season, his designation to return means RB Jamaal Charles will not be coming back for the playoffs.
