Powell (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's regular-season finale against Tampa Bay, Jason Butt of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Powell never seemed especially likely to go Week 17, as the return man was unable to submit even a limited practice session heading into Sunday's finale. He'll close out the year with 8.9 yards per punt return, good for eighth-best in the NFL. The 25-year-old also saw his offensive role increase as the campaign progressed, contributing seven of his 12 receptions over his final five appearances of 2020.
Powell (foot) did not practice Thursday, Will McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports. Powell played through his foot issue during last weekend's loss to the Chiefs, but he's now missed back-to-back practices. The Falcons would need to delegate another option in the return game if Powell can't suit up Week 17 versus the Buccaneers.
Powell (foot) did not participate during Wednesday's practice, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Powell was confronted with a foot issue going into the Falcons' Week 16 matchup against the Chiefs. He found a way to suit up, however, fielding 13 offensive snaps while recording a two-yard catch during last Sunday's loss. Powell coughed up a fumble on his lone catch, turning possession over to Kansas City at the 10:50 mark of the fourth quarter. The 25-year-old remains without a missed game on the season, and he will try to power through his foot issue once more as Atlanta travels to take on the Buccaneers to close out the 2020 campaign.
Powell (foot) is active for Sunday's game versus the Chiefs, Will McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports. With Julio Jones (hamstring) out of the lineup, Powell should handle a decent workload Sunday. In the last two games without Jones, Powell played at least 43 percent of the snaps on offense. However, he didn't capitalize on the extra opportunities in that stretch, catching just three passes for 14 yards.
Powell (foot) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. Powell popped up on the injury report Thursday with an unspecified foot injury, and he remained a limited participant in Friday's practice. With Julio Jones (hamstring) sidelined, Powell's potential absence would presumably allow Christian Blake to handle a large role behind Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage.
