Shelley (heel) participated at OTAs last week, Alyssa Barbieri of USA Today reports. Shelley missed six of the final seven games of 2021 due to the heel injury, but he's back on the field for OTAs in Chicago. The 25-year-old is a favorite to start at cornerback after posting a career-high 37 tackles and three passes defensed last season, though he's still looking for his first career interception.

Shelley (heel) was inactive in Week 18 and ended the season with 37 tackles and three passes defensed. Although he posted the highest tackle total of his three-year career, Shelley was a very inconsistent fantasy producer. Should he be able to stay atop the Bears' depth chart at cornerback, he'd have potential as a solid floor option in IDP leagues. He's signed through the 2022 season, so he could find himself playing for his second NFL contract next year.

Shelley was a full participant at Wednesday's practice. The cornerback was forced to miss Week 17 while dealing with a heel injury, but he'll return to the secondary for the Bears' season finale versus the Vikings on Sunday. Shelley has missed five of the last six games while dealing with injuries, limiting him to just 66 total snaps since the team's Week 10 bye.

However, he is dealing with a heel injury ahead of Week 17. If the 25-year-old is unable to play Sunday against the Giants, Artie Burns and Thomas Graham should see increased playing time.
