Colt McCoy is expected to be the No. 2 quarterback for the Redskins this season behind Kirk Cousins, but he would only have minimal Fantasy value if he played in 2017. Last year, McCoy played behind Cousins and didn't see any action in the regular season. Ignore McCoy in all leagues on Draft Day.
McCoy completed eight of 11 passes for 76 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's preseason win over the Bengals. McCoy had to wait until halfway through the third quarter to take the field Sunday but made good on his limited reps, leading a fourth-quarter comeback complete with two scoring drives -- including a nine-yard touchdown pass to tight end Derek Carrier. Firmly in control of the No. 2 spot on the depth chart, McCoy should be locked in for quite a bit of playing time in Thursday's preseason finale, as most of the starters are expected to rest.
McCoy completed seven of 10 passes for 59 yards in Friday's win over the Bills. It was a quiet night for the No. 2 quarterback as he managed the second half of Friday's win. McCoy has had a decent preseason, assuring Washington they're in good hands if anything happens to starter Kirk Cousins. McCoy's big day will come next week against the Buccaneers as he will likely start under center after head coach Jay Gruden confirmed all starters will rest.
McCoy completed 13 of 16 passes for 159 yards, two touchdowns and an interceptions in Friday's loss to the Jets. McCoy started and performed very efficiently, but he was unable to engineer a victory against one of the more solid opponents in the game. The veteran is expected to start the season as the top backup to Kirk Cousins after an eventful 2015/16 season, but he carries little fantasy upside even if he does step into a starting role.
McCoy has agreed to a three-year deal to remain with Washington, the Washington Post reports. With the franchise having parted ways with Robert Griffin, the team has quickly moved to ensure stability at the top of the QB depth chart, by franchising starter Kirk Cousins and securing the services of McCoy to remain his backup.
Redskins quarterback Colt McCoy is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Eagles. All Robert Griffin-related storylines will have to wait, as McCoy logged full practices throughout the week, leaving little question as to his availability for Sunday's game against the Eagles. With the way Kirk Cousins is playing, it won't be surprising if McCoy sees the field before mid-season
