Colts' Carson Wentz: Tops 400 yards in loss

Carson Wentz completed 25 of 35 passes for 402 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's 31-25 overtime loss to the Ravens. He also was sacked twice and lost a fumble.Wentz started the night with a screen pass that Jonathan Taylor took 76 yards for a touchdown, giving the Indianapolis Colts their first first-quarter TD all season. The signal-caller then led his team into the red zone on his second series, only to be sacked while losing a fumble in the process. To begin the third quarter, Wentz added another touchdown thanks to a remarkable contested grab by Michael Pittman that went for 42 yards. Along with his big scoring plays, Wentz made hay with intermediate and short completions, helping him rack up his most yardage yet as a Colt. Although his 400-plus yards still weren't enough to clinch a victory as the defense collapsed down the stretch against Lamar Jackson, Wentz at least approaches Week 6's favorable matchup against the Texans coming off a strong performance.

Colts' Carson Wentz: Looks healthier heading into Week 5

Carson Wentz was listed as a full participant on the Indianapolis Colts' initial Week 5 injury report released Thursday, an indication that the team is comfortable with his health after he sprained both of his ankles in a Week 2 loss to the Rams, JJ Stankevitz of the team's official site reports. "I definitely feel much better," Wentz said. "I came out of the [Colts' Week 4 win over the Dolphins] thankfully unscathed. Felt good the next morning and the extra rest here early in the week has definitely helped as well."The Colts' injury report featured "ankle" rather than "ankles" next to his name, suggesting that he's at least 100 percent recovered from one of the sprains. The other ankle sprain doesn't look like it will bother him much moving forward, either, even though he had a rough outing in his first game coming off the injury in the Week 3 loss to the Titans. Wentz bounced back well in Week 4 with his best performance as a Colt, completing 24 of 32 attempts for 228 yards and two touchdowns while carrying five times for eight yards. Wentz's involvement in the run game was a particularly encouraging sight, given that he didn't attempt any runs against the Titans in his first game coming off the injury. The Colts shouldn't have to adjust their game plan out of any concern for Wentz's health in Monday's contest in Baltimore.

Colts' Carson Wentz: Solid effort in Week 4 win

Carson Wentz (ankles) completed 24 of 32 passes for 228 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Indianapolis Colts' 27-17 win over the Dolphins on Sunday. He also rushed five times for eight yards.Playing through twin ankle sprains for the second straight week, Wentz turned in a solid, mistake-free workmanlike effort to help the Colts garner their first win of the season. The offseason arrival got plenty of help from Jonathan Taylor (16-103-1) on the ground, and he connected with a whopping 10 different pass catchers. Wentz appeared to be moving a bit better than during a Week 3 loss to the Titans, and he's now put together a fantasy-friendly 5:1 TD:INT through four games. Wentz has still to notch his first 300-yard effort as a member of the Colts, however, a matter he'll look to rectify in a Week 5 road battle against the Ravens on Monday, Oct. 11.

Colts' Carson Wentz: Active for Sunday's game

Carson Wentz (ankles) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. As expected, Wentz will continue to tough it out through his ankle woes, and while the QB still isn't 100 percent, he noted heading into Week 4 action that he's "definitely in a better place than last week." With that in mind, it's possible that Wentz will be able to move around better this Sunday than he did last weekend, when he completed 19 of 37 passes for 194 yards and did not record a rushing attempt in the Indianapolis Colts' 25-16 loss to the Titans.

Colts' Carson Wentz: Listed as questionable for Week 4

Carson Wentz (ankles) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins after being listed as limited at practice this past week. That said, there's nothing to suggest that the QB's Week 4 status is in danger after he toughed it out through his ankle woes in the team's loss to the Titans last Sunday. Earlier this week, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin relayed that Wentz was feeling better than he did leading up to Week 3 action, so while the QB still isn't 100 percent, it's plausible that he'll be able to move around better this weekend, assuming he's active as expected.

Colts' Carson Wentz: Remains limited in practice

Carson Wentz (ankles) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice. While tending to sprains of both ankles, Wentz only managed one limited practice last week before playing every snap in the Indianapolis Colts' loss to the Titans. Though he didn't attempt a run for the first time all the season and was inaccurate in the pocket (19-for-37 for 194 yards), Wentz appears to have come out of the game in better health. He's turned in a pair of limited practices to begin Week 4, a sign that he's on track to start again Sunday in Miami.

Colts' Carson Wentz: In store for limited practice

Carson Wentz (ankles) will be limited at practice Wednesday, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports. That said, head coach Frank Reich believes that the quarterback is in "a better spot" this week after toughing it out through sprains to both ankles in the team's Week 3 loss to the Titans. With that in mind, Reich expects Wentz's mobility to be better this week, and at this stage, there's no doubt regarding the signal-caller's playing status for Sunday's game in Miami. Brett Hundley is once again in line to serve as his top backup this weekend.

Colts' Carson Wentz: No touchdowns in loss

Carson Wentz completed 19 of 37 passes for 194 yards in Sunday's 25-16 loss to the Titans.Wentz notably was playing with two banged-up ankles, and despite seeing All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson exit early Sunday, he was able to complete the contest. Although Wentz showed grit in doing so, he didn't make much of an impact as a passer and missed an open Michael Pittman on a would-be touchdown as well. Without a win from his first three games as a Colt, Wentz should be especially eager to taste victory Week 4 versus the Dolphins.

Colts' Carson Wentz: Active for Sunday's game

Carson Wentz (ankles) is listed active for Sunday's game against the Titans.Per ESPN's Chris Mortensen and Stephen Holder of The Athletic, Wentz -- who injured both of his ankles during Week 2 action -- is slated to start the contest after practicing Friday with heavily-taped ankles and moving around well in the process during the media-access portion of the session. Also in uniform Sunday are Brett Hundley and Jacob Eason, either of whom the Indianapolis Colts could turn to if Wentz struggles or suffers an in-game setback versus Tennessee, though based on how things played out in practice this past week, Hundley could well be the next man up in the event of a Week 3 Wentz setback.

Colts' Carson Wentz: Expected to start Sunday

Carson Wentz (ankles), who is questionable on the injury report against Tennessee and will be a game-time decision, is expected to start, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.Rapoport adds that Wentz is pushing to play and the Indianapolis Colts have contingency plans in place if he has a setback in warmups or during the game. The Colts activated Brett Hundley from the practice squad Saturday. Hundley would likely play if Wentz can't go since Hundley took the bulk of reps in practice this week over Jacob Eason when Wentz was sidelined. However, Wentz returned to practice Friday and looks set to play even though he was limited in that session.
