  • Commanders' William Jackson: Not practicing Wednesday

Jackson (back) didn't practice Wednesday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports. Jackson was sidelined for the team's Week 6 win over Chicago due to a back injury that he suffered in Week 5. It was presumably an aggravation of the issue that caused him to miss Week 3 as well. Given that it appears to be a reoccurring thing, Washington may elect to keep him out for a second consecutive contest. However, he'll have two more opportunities to return to practice before the team needs to make a decision on his status for Sunday's matchup against the Packers.

  • Football Team's William Jackson: Game-time call Sunday

Jackson (knee), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Broncos, is viewed as a game-time decision ahead of the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports. Washington's top cornerback sat out the Football Team's Week 7 loss to the Packers, but he appears to have more hope of playing this week after practicing on a limited basis Wednesday through Friday. Even if he's cleared to play at less than 100 percent health, Jackson's presence would be a welcome one for a porous Washington pass defense as it looks to slow down a slew of talented Denver pass catchers such as Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick and Noah Fant.

  • Bengals' William Jackson III: Fully expected to return for spring works

Jackson (pectoral) is expected to be full-go for spring workouts, Cincinnati.com reports. Jackson lost his rookie season to a pectoral tear suffered in practice last August but appears to have recovered nicely. In fact, the Bengals had plans to activate the cornerback from injured reserve before RB Giovani Bernard (knee - ACL) went down in November, prompting the team to change course and use its sole 'Designated for Return' tag on RB Cedric Peerman instead. Since Jackson had come this close to playing, it appears he could already be fully healthy. Thus, it comes as little surprise that he's expected back for spring workouts in April. With No. 1 CB Dre Kirkpatrick an unrestricted free agent and starting complement Adam Jones potentially facing legal discipline, those workouts could be the starting point for Jackson's quest to claim a first-string role in 2017.
