Colts' Parris Campbell: Returns to health

Parris Campbell (foot) is 100 percent healthy and has been running routes since March or April, Andrew Walker of Indianapolis reports. The 2019 second-round pick had terrible luck as a rookie, suffering a sports hernia, a broken hand, a fractured foot and a hamstring injury. He somehow managed to play seven games in between, putting up an 18-127-1 receiving line on 196 offensive snaps. The Colts expect Campbell to handle a much bigger role in Year 2, with coach Frank Reich specifically mentioning the slot as a place where the soon-to-be 23-year-old should thrive. T.Y. Hilton and rookie second-round pick Michael Pittman also are capable of working inside, while Campbell has the size/speed profile to function as an outside receiver if need be. Reich will have plenty of options as he decides how to deploy his wide receivers for new quarterback Philip Rivers.

Colts' Parris Campbell: More slot work on tap

Indianapolis Colts coach Frank Reich said Tuesday that he anticipates Parris Campbell (foot) seeing more reps out of the slot in 2020, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports.Reich indicated that while he's willing to move Campbell around the formation, the slot may be the best spot for the second-year receiver to find consistent playing time with No. 1 target T.Y. Hilton and rookie Michael Pittman profiling as the top options out wide. Campbell was limited to just seven games in 2019 -- with a sports hernia, hamstring injury, broken hand and foot fracture costing him time. Reich noted that Campbell is still going through the final stages of his rehab for the broken foot, so the expectation is that the 22-year-old will be ready to go for the start of training camp.

Colts' Parris Campbell: Hopes to be healthy in February

Parris Campbell (foot) has been rehabbing in Indianapolis, hoping to be healthy enough for high-intensity workouts by mid-February, Jim Ayello of The Indianapolis Star reports. The second-round pick broke his foot during a Week 14 loss to Tampa Bay, capping off a frustrating rookie season that also featured a sports hernia, a hamstring injury and a broken hand. Campbell actually played with the foot fracture throughout much of that Week 14 contest, but X-rays after the game revealed it to be a season-ending injury. He finished the year with an 18-127-1 receiving line on 24 targets and four carries for 34 yards, averaging 28 offensive snaps in seven appearances. Campbell should return to health before OTAs, at which point he'll compete for the Indianapolis Colts' No. 2 or 3 spot at wide receiver.

Colts' Parris Campbell: Fractures foot in Week 14

Parris Campbell, whom the Indianapolis Colts placed on injured reserve Monday, suffered a fractured foot in Sunday's 38-35 loss to the Buccaneers, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.Fresh off returning from a four-game layoff due to a broken right hand, Campbell suffered another injury that will result in the third multi-week absence of his rookie season. The wideout could need surgery to address the fractured foot, but the expectation is that he'll be back to full strength for training camp, if not the Colts' offseason program. Campbell's injury woes put a damper on his first NFL season, with the second-round pick out of Ohio State appearing in just seven games and providing 18 receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown on 24 targets.

Colts' Parris Campbell: Shut down for season

The Indianapolis Colts placed Parris Campbell on injured reserve Monday due to an unspecified issue. After missing four games following surgery to address a fractured right hand, Campbell returned to action in a starting role in Sunday's 38-35 loss to the Buccaneers, playing 31 of the Colts' 63 offensive snaps (49 percent) in the contest and finishing with three catches for 12 yards on five targets. Campbell wasn't known to have suffered from an injury during the game, but his move to IR implies that the Colts weren't anticipating him playing in any of their final three games. Expect more clarity on Campbell's health situation to come in the next few days, but he'll nonetheless conclude a disappointing rookie campaign with 18 receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown over seven appearances.

Colts' Parris Campbell: Cleared for Sunday

Coach Frank Reich confirmed Parris Campbell (hand) will be available to play Sunday against the Buccaneers, barring a setback, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports.Campbell opened the week as a full participant in practice and wasn't restricted Thursday or Friday either, so he'll put an end to a four-game absence in Tampa Bay. With top wideout T.Y. Hilton (calf) ruled out for another game, Campbell could immediately slide into a starting role at receiver alongside Zach Pascal on Sunday. Even if Hilton returns at some point during the final three games of the season, Campbell could retain a sizable role in the Indianapolis Colts' passing attack with three other key receiving options (Eric Ebron, Devin Funchess and Chester Rogers) on injured reserve.

    Colts' Parris Campbell: Practices fully

Parris Campbell (hand) practiced fully Wednesday, Andrew Walker of the Indianapolis Colts' official site reports.Campbell has been out since fracturing his hand in Week 9, but his full participation at practice Wednesday suggests that he's trending toward a return to action Sunday against the Buccaneers. If he's ready to go this weekend, Campbell would provide the Colts' wideout corps with a much-needed boost, as top option T.Y. Hilton is iffy for Week 14 due to a calf injury.

    Colts' Parris Campbell: Practicing Wednesday

Parris Campbell (hand) will practice Wednesday, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports.Campbell logged a trio of limited practices last week before being ruled out ahead of the Indianapolis Colts' loss to the Titans, so he could realistically have a similar cap on his reps Wednesday. With T.Y. Hilton (calf) also withheld from practice, the Colts' healthy receiving corps currently consists of Zach Pascal, Marcus Johnson, Ashton Dulin and Chad Williams. If the rookie second-round pick manages to return to full health in time for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, he stands to benefit from both a favorable matchup and an increased target share.

Colts' Parris Campbell: Has shot to play Week 14

Coach Frank Reich said it's "too soon to tell" if Parris Campbell (hand) will be cleared for Sunday's matchup against the Buccaneers, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.Campbell was given a similarly ambiguous status a week ago but was inactive for this past Sunday's loss to the Titans. If he's able to get healthy, the rookie second-rounder is slated for increased duties against the Bucs' 31st-ranked pass defense (282.8 yards allowed per game) since T.Y. Hilton (calf) is trending in the wrong direction.

Colts' Parris Campbell: Won't play Sunday

Parris Campbell (hand) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Titans. With Campbell still out Sunday, Zach Pascal, Chester Rogers and Marcus Johnson will continue to see added snaps at wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts, with T.Y. Hilton (calf) out and Devin Funchess (collarbone) still on IR.
