  • Reggie Davis: Waived by Dallas

The Cowboys waived Davis on Tuesday, Rob Phillips of DallasCowboys.com reports. Davis has bounced around the league -- Atlanta, Cleveland, Dallas, Chicago -- since 2017, but he has yet to make his NFL debut. He will likely land on another practice squad during 2021 campaign.

  • Reggie Davis: Cut loose by Chicago

  • Reggie Davis: Dealing with injury

The Bears placed Davis (undisclosed) on the practice squad injured list Wednesday. It's unclear what Davis is dealing with. Unless the Bears make it into the playoffs, Davis won't return to the field this season. An undrafted free agent in 2017, Davis has yet to suit up in an NFL game.

  • Reggie Davis: Joins Chicago's practice squad

  • Reggie Davis: Cut by Cowboys

Davis was cut by the Cowboys on Friday, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Davis boasts a 4.31-second 40-yard dash time and offers upside as a return man, but he ultimately wasn't able to carve out a depth role in Dallas. He could catch the eye of another team as a developmental project.

  • Cowboys' Reggie Davis: Looking good in practice

Davis was a standout performer at OTAs on Wednesday, Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Davis, who recorded a 4.31-second 40-yard dash time at his pro day in 2017, has been putting that speed on display during the Cowboys' workouts. On Wednesday, he caught two bombs in the two-minute drill, including one on a go route. If he can keep up the good work, Davis could force his way into consideration for a roster spot come August.

  • Cowboys' Reggie Davis: Joins Cowboys

Davis signed a contract with the Cowboys on Thursday, according to the NFL's official transaction log. Davis spent the 2017 season on Atlanta's practice squad and failed to make the team's 53-man roster last season. The 25-year-old is still looking to make his NFL debut after going undrafted out of Georgia in the 2017 draft.

  • Reggie Davis: Doesn't make the cut with Falcons

Davis was waived by the Falcons on Saturday, Will McFadden of the team's official site reports. After spending 2017 on Atlanta's practice squad, Davis failed to progress to the active roster in his second year out of Georgia. Davis' otherworldly speed could make him an asset on special teams elsewhere, but he struggled mightily as a receiver during the preseason, hauling in just three of 11 targets and dropping multiple passes in the Falcons' final exhibition game against Miami on Thursday.

  • Falcons' Reggie Davis: Chances of clinching roster spot diminished

Davis failed to record a reception despite being targeted on six occasions during Thursday night's 34-7 preseason loss to the Dolphins. The second-year speedster out of Georgia severely disappointed in what may have been the most vital game of his young NFL career to this point, dropping a number of passes and appearing timid at times when running routes over the center of the field. On the opening play of the second half, Kurt Benkert targeted Davis on a slant over the middle, but the pass deflected off the receiver's hands and into the awaiting arms of Dolphins safety Jordan Lucas. Davis' remarkable quickness and athleticism could play a role in him sneaking onto the roster as a special teams contributor, but his performance as a pass-catcher was abysmal during the preseason -- three receptions on 11 targets for 18 yards.

  • Falcons' Reggie Davis: Could vie for slot-receiver role

Falcons head coach Dan Quinn suggested Tuesday that Davis could compete for the starting slot-receiver role in training camp, Kelsey Conway of the team's official site reports. "[Davis and fellow competitor Marvin Hall] would have to add value on special teams," Quinn said. "The guy who is going to be our third receiver I bet plays close to 40 percent of the snaps, so they'll have a significant role offensively." The opening at slot receiver was created earlier this month when Taylor Gabriel signed with the Bears on a lavish deal. Given that Hall only has eight games of NFL experience and Davis was a practice-squad player last season, it's likely that the Falcons will add further competition for the role via free agency or the draft. Even so, the fact that Davis merely gets to compete for a starting role suggests that the Falcons think highly of him.

  • Falcons' Reggie Davis: Signs future pact with Falcons

Davis signed a reserve/future contract with the Falcons on Monday, Will McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports. Davis spent a better part of the 2017 season off NFL rosters, but the 5-foot-11, 170-pound wideout will get another shot with the Falcons for the 2018 campaign. The Falcons have plenty of talent at receiver with Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu, so Davis may have to find a spot on special teams to garner a roster spot.

  • Reggie Davis: Waived by Browns

Davis was waived by the Browns on Friday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon-Journal reports. Davis was claimed by the Browns in early September after spending the preseason with the Falcons. The 24-year-old is a likely candidate to end up on a practice squad if he clears waivers.
