Avalanche's Darcy Kuemper: Takes rare home loss

Kuemper stopped 24 of 26 shots in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Canucks. The third goal was an empty-netter.

Entering Wednesday, Kuemper was 17-2-1 on home ice. The Avalanche didn't give him enough goal support in a close game, and the Canucks were able to hang on after their offense sparked to life in the third period. Kuemper is now 30-9-2 with a 2.39 GAA and a .923 save percentage through 45 games. This wasn't a bad outing despite the result, so the 31-year-old shouldn't have much trouble bouncing back. The Avalanche host the Flyers on Friday.
