Meloche signed a three-year, two-way, entry-level contract with the Avalanche on Monday worth $761,000 per year, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

The Avs' 40th overall pick in 2015, Meloche is currently in his fourth season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The 19-year-old has accrued 42 points, 65 PIM and a plus-29 rating in 55 games split between Gatineau and Charlottetown this seson, so it's clear Colorado believes he has some upside as a potential offensive defenseman at the NHL level given the deal they struck with him.
