Olausson joined Team Sweden in preparation for the world juniors tournament in Alberta, Adrian Dater of Colorado Hockey Now reports.

Olausson, Colorado's first-round draft pick (28th overall) in 2021, has been productive for Barrie of the Ontario Hockey League. The 19-year-old left-shooting winger has 12 goals and 25 points for the Colts thus far in his first season on the smaller North American ice sheets. "I've really learned a lot here with Barrie, on and off the ice," Olausson said. "I'm glad I made the decision to play here. I just have to keep working hard at different parts of my game." Olausson could join the Avalanche at some point this season, including the playoffs, but he feels the need to get bigger and stronger to compete at the NHL level.
