Shaw (concussion) was flipped to long-term injured reserve Monday.
Shaw was already on injured reserve, but his placement on LTIR will rule him out through the Christmas break. With the center unavailable, the club promoted Matthew Highmore from AHL Rockford, who figures to compete with Kirby Dach and Ryan Carpenter for Shaw's spot in the lineup.
