Chicago acquired Foligno and Taylor Hall from Boston on Monday in exchange for defensemen Ian Mitchell and Alec Regula.
Foligno will be eligible for unrestricted free agency Saturday, but this trade will give Chicago a chance to negotiate with him before that happens. Foligno registered 26 points, 71 shots on goal and 147 hits in 60 games last season.
