Goloubef is suffering from an oblique injury, the same type of injury that ended his 2015-16 campaign, Aaron Portzline of The Columbus Dispatch reports.

The Blue Jackets have yet to announce a timeline for Goloubef, but he seems to be a long-shot for the Opening Night depth chart. The blueliner has yet to play in 50+ games in a season due to various maladies. Even when healthy, the 26-year-old has struggled to produce, as he logged a mere eight points last season. Once he is cleared to return, Columbus may opt to reassign him to the minors. The uncertainty surrounding his injury and status in the lineup should be a red flag to fantasy owners.
